PIG FEEDING
With the aid of modern technology from our overseas parent company in France, we have formulated a range of
pig diets in order to obtain maximum performance in your piggery.

Growers:

There are two option to growing out weaners
1. Porkers which are grown to 18 weeks or ± 76Kg then slaughtered
2. Baconers which are grown to 23 weeks or ± 107Kg then slaughtered
When growing out weaners, consult the abattoir for most economical option

Breeding Sow:
1. Gestation period; 114 Days at 2Kg/Day + 0.2Kg for every 10Kg increase in body mass
2. Lactation period; 35 Days at 2Kg/Day + 0.4Kg/suckling piglet
3. Dry period; 8 Days at 2Kg/Day

Replacement Gilts:
Grow with baconers till 90Kg body mass then feed to a weight of 105 with an intake of 2-3Kg MONTI FEEDS PIG
GROWER OR PIG FINISHER/Day.

Boars:
2-3Kg/Day depending on work load

GENERAL MANAGEMENT
It is important to follow good management practice.
1. MISTRAL powder is an environmental sanitizer which can be used to:
A) Dry and heal the umbilical cord
B) Dries the piglets and prevents chilling
C) More rapid ingestion of colostrums
D) Reduces bacterial infections
E) Reduces pre-weaning mortalities
2. Sufficient clean water
3. Draught free sties; good housing
4. Sanitize and disinfect housing—maintain high hygiene levels
5. Stocking density
6. Feeder space
